Teaching pro-social skills

Preventing rather than reacting to behaviours that challenge us— create peaceful and engaged learning environments APTS 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments Presented by Philip Butler

Description

It can be exhausting to deal with behaviours that challenge us constantly. Instead of focusing solely on reacting to these behaviours, let's take a moment to consider the benefits of teaching pro-social skills. This webinar offers a safe and supportive space to explore big ideas surrounding pro-social skill development and how to integrate them into an early childhood program. Create peaceful and engaged learning environments that shift from reacting to intervening in a kind and empathetic way. You will leave this webinar armed with new skills where intervention, not reaction, is the new normal.

Completing Teaching pro-social skills may contribute one hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) approved criteria and addresses:

The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers: APTS 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments

The Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes: Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing

The National Quality Standard: QA 5: Relationships with children
