How to re-focus our gaze and bring documentation to life... APTS 6: Engage in professional learning Presented by Philip Butler
Description
Pedagogical documentation turns much of our gathered information from merely reporting on events and activities in the children's day into documentation, which helps us notice, understand and plan effectively for individual children and group learning. It is also the key to making the learning visible. This webinar will focus on the documentation we require as educators, not 'what' occurred, but 'why' it happened and what this means. We are still documenting the same things but looking at it with a different lens. This re-focussing of our gaze allows every educator to produce rich, meaningful documentation that brings the learning to life and is consistent, engaging, and meaningful for educators to create.
Learning goals:
- gain a deeper appreciation for the value of engaging in documenting children's learning and stories.
- ability to identify a piece of pedagogical documentation
- identify links between pedagogical documentation, the planning cycle, and the Frameworks
Completing Pedagogical documentation is more than just a blog may contribute one hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) criteria for Elective PD and addresses:
The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers: APTS 6: Engage in professional learning
The Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes: Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
The National Quality Standard: QA1: Educational program and practice
