Using the Exceeding Themes to improve what we do

The NQS exceeding themes can help us prioritise what we need to do to improve our practices and provide better education and care to children APST 7: Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community Presented by Philip Butler

Description

The NQS ‘exceeding themes’ brings focus to three overarching areas of practice. These are:
- practice is embedded in service operations,
- practice is informed by critical reflection and
- practice is shaped by meaningful engagement with families and/or the community

This webinar will unpack what each of these themes look like in your setting and how, as leaders, teams and individuals, we use them as a source for self-assessment and continuous improvement. Prioritising is something most of us could use help with occasionally, and that’s what the themes give us…priorities. By focusing on the exceeding themes as a priority, you can develop clear strategies and plans to implement transformative change. We will also discuss how focusing on the themes can help teams build and develop accountability, communication styles, and many other areas of professional practice.

Learning goals:

  • understand and discuss the themes in relation to continuous improvement
  • a deeper awareness of the link between the themes and the self-assessment process
  • clarity around team involvement accountability in relation to the themes.

Completing Using the Exceeding Themes to improve what we do may contribute one-hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) approved criteria and addresses:
