APST 2: Know the content and how to teach it Presented by Dr Gai Lindsay
Description
Early childhood professionals often express uncertainty about how to plan visual arts experiences for very young children. This webinar will equip educators with tools and inspirations to plan and implement quality arts experiences with babies and toddlers (and children at all levels of capability). Instead of searching on Pinterest and wondering whether a child is ready or capable to undertake an activity, you will be empowered to design rich and meaningful material encounters that meet children where they are. Drawing on the work of artists as inspiration, participants will learn to realise their own capacity to design and construct meaningful arts experiences by deconstructing the materials and processes employed by artists.
Completing Meeting materials and processes: The importance of visual art experiences with Babies and Toddlers may contribute one-hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) approved criteria and addresses:
The Australian Professionals Standards for Teachers: APST 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes: Outcome 2: Children are connected and contribute to their world
The National Quality Standard: QA 1: Educational program and practice
