The work undertaken in the early childhood schools of Reggio Emilia and the thinking that has informed this practice has had international impact and appeal. There are many big ideas that have impacted on the daily practice within the Australian early childhood sector. This has included the impact on environments, on the role and ways we document and assess children’s learning, the ways in which we think about children and how his image impacts on our work with children as well the hundred languages children including how they communicate through the arts. In this full day session we will be exploring a number of big ideas from the schools of Reggio Emilia and how these might translate back into practice in a way which proclaim ‘doing Reggio’, but rather the influence Reggio can have and it’s interpretation back into your early childhood program.
At the end of the session you would have:
- developed a better understanding of the thinking which comes from the early childhood program of Reggio Emilia
- identify ways this might translate back in the Australian early childhood sector
- articulate a number of big ideas into daily practice
