Description
A field guide for new educational leaders
PRESENTER: PHILIP BUTLER
The educational leader - a manager who 'checks' everybody's documentation, the enforcer of the rules, or a leader who supports their team to achieve their pedagogical goals. This webinar is for those who wish to be a member of the latter group. It is all relational - the role and responsibilities of the educational leader and their team, the setting, pedagogical approach and the frameworks. Crucial to the position of educational leader is a knowledge and understanding of how it fits / you fit within the early education setting. What documentation do you use, and how does this provide evidence of your role? How does the educational leader support a team through change and embed practice? Gaining clarity around your purpose from the outset will assist your teams' understanding, and subsequently, their engagement with you.
Completing A field guide for new educational leaders will contribute one hour of PD addressing the following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and aligns with the NESA criteria for Elective PD.
NESA Elective PD:
- Enhanced teaching practice to effect positive change and impact on student/child learning progress and achievements
- Linked to clear and relevant goals that are related to improving student/child outcomes
