Description

The Practice Series: More than just supervising outside

PRESENTED BY: PHILIP BUTLER

Why is there this great disconnect between the outside program and the indoor program? Why is there always a lot more time and effort put into indoor planning, rather than outdoor? Why do educators seem to switch roles from educators to ‘supervisors’ when they move into the outside environments? This webinar will provide participants with practical knowledge in relation to outdoor pedagogy and practices and the answers to these and many more questions around outdoor pedagogy. We will unpack a few simple key strategies which will support you to move from a position of supervision, to one of engagement. From the design and set up of the learning spaces, working as a ‘team’ outside to support better outcomes for all, developing meaningful and reflective planning for outside learning, and how to ‘tune in’ to the outdoor curriculum.
