Room Leadership Series 

In this two-part webinar package, we will have the opportunity to look at, and unpack, some of the key roles, responsibilities and skills of the room leader.

Part 1:  Growing leadership skills and confidence

The focus of this webinar is to look at some of the skills and attributes a new leader can develop to achieve goals and grow leadership confidence. We will take a close look at the stages of leadership – how you grow a leadership mindset. And the process by which you can support your growth through the leadership ladder. We will also take a brief look at the importance of emotional intelligence (EI) and how it can be the key to unlocking your inner leader.

Part 2: How leadership sets the tone: accountability, communication and leading change

In this webinar, we will look at developing team accountability measures and strategies - being accountable to self, each other, and the children and families. Accountability includes, how our actions need to align with our words, how we manage differences of opinion, how we communicate process - specifically documentation and how a team handles change - as a room leader you will be leading that change - leaders set the tone. 

Completing Room Leadership Series - Parts 1 & 2 will contribute two hours of PD addressing the following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and aligns with the NESA criteria for Elective PD.

NESA Elective PD:

  • Enhanced teaching practice to effect positive change and impact on student/child learning progress and achievements
  • Involved opportunities to give and receive feedback and/or undertake self-reflection and reflection on the teaching practices of others
  • Research-based and evidence based
